Blue Tiles

Blue tiles can make a bathroom feel quiet and cool or give a kitchen just the right amount of colour. The trick is choosing the blue that belongs with the other materials, not the blue that looks best in isolation. Sky, aqua, teal and navy each change how timber, stone and metal read beside them.

Pale blue or deep blue?

A pale blue tile can lift a white bathroom without making it feel cold, especially when the finish has gloss and a little variation. Deeper blue feels richer beside oak, creamy stone or brushed brass. Aqua sits between the two, with a greener note that catches the light beautifully. Compare the samples upright in the room before choosing the undertone.

Let shape give colour a rhythm

Subway tiles give blue a clean, easy line across a kitchen splashback. Square tiles make the colour feel more ordered, while mosaic tiles add finer detail behind a vanity or sink. Zellige & Moroccan tiles bring surface variation, so the blue changes gently from piece to piece. Decide how much pattern you want before choosing grout and layout.

Where blue works best

Blue bathroom tiles can make a vanity wall or shower wall feel more personal. Blue splashback tiles can bring colour to a kitchen with simple cabinetry. Start with bathroom tiles or kitchen splashback tiles when the intended room matters more than the colour alone. Check the individual tile's specified wall, wet-area or other application before finalising the design.

Frequently asked questions

Are blue tiles suitable for bathroom walls?

Many tiles in this collection are specified for walls, but check the particular product and its intended location. Gloss, texture and grout colour will also change how the blue feels across a larger bathroom wall.

Which blue tiles work with white cabinetry?

Sky blue gives white a fresh, gentle partner; navy brings sharper contrast. A warmer white may prefer a blue with a greener undertone. Put the tile beside the exact cabinetry and benchtop finishes to see the difference.

Can blue tiles be used for a kitchen splashback?

Blue kitchen tiles can bring colour to a splashback without overwhelming the cabinetry. Choose a product specified for wall use and look at it in the kitchen's actual light. A glossy subway tile can reflect daylight, while a mosaic gives a shorter wall more detail.

Are the blue tiles in this collection floor tiles?

Only products approved for floor use should be treated as blue floor tiles. The current collection is mainly organised around wall and splashback applications, so check each product's stated use and browse floor tiles if flooring is the priority.

Should blue tiles be gloss or matt?

Gloss gives blue more depth and reflects light beautifully across walls and splashbacks. A matt or softly textured finish feels quieter and may suit selected floors when the product is approved for that use. Let the intended location and the room's light guide the choice.

Which grout colour works with blue tiles?

A close blue or soft grey grout keeps the surface calm and lets the glaze lead. Off-white creates a clearer outline, especially with subway and square tiles. Test the grout beside the tile first, as the combination can change how warm or cool the blue appears.
