Steel Baths

A pressed metal bath is formed from a single sheet of steel rather than moulded from plastic, which gives a thin rim profile. The bath in this group is rectangular and listed at two lengths, 1500mm and 1700mm, so it fits a standard alcove at either size. Steel weighs more than acrylic, so plan the lift and check two people can get it through the doorway and around the turn into the bathroom. It also needs a level, fully supported bed rather than packing at the corners. Steel conducts heat, so the shell feels cold to the touch when the bath is first filled. Measure the alcove at floor level and again at rim height before ordering, since walls are rarely square.
