Built in baths drop into a framed hob or an alcove, with the rim supported and the sides hidden behind tiling or joinery. Almost all are acrylic, with one pressed steel bath in the group, and the shapes are mostly rectangular with a back to wall and corner option. Lengths run from around 1295mm up to 1790mm, and several models are listed at two lengths, such as 1635 or 1785 and 1665 or 1790, so one shell covers more than one alcove. Measure the alcove at the floor and again at rim height, since walls are seldom square, and leave a few millimetres of tolerance at each end. Settle the tap position early, as a hob mounted set needs the hob built to suit.
