Lago Tiles

Let the colour decide how the room should feel

Lago covers far more ground than white subway tiles. Bone, Off White, Warm Beige and Warm Grey are calm choices when stone, timber or joinery already carries the palette. Musk Green and Forrest feel grounded, while Emerald catches more light. China Blue brings freshness, Black creates a sharper outline and Terracotta warms the entire scheme. Compare the range with other green tiles and blue tiles, then view the shortlisted samples vertically in the room.

Use the subway tile layout to change the proportions

The 240 x 60mm shape has a longer, finer line than a traditional brick. A horizontal running bond feels familiar and relaxed. A straight stack looks cleaner and more architectural, while a vertical stack draws the eye upward. Before choosing a pattern, browse the wider subway tiles and ask the installer to map the full wall. The most successful layout is the one that handles corners, niches, cabinetry and end cuts as thoughtfully as the centre.

Make the splashback part of the colour story

On a kitchen or bar wall, Lago gives a simple rectangular tile enough gloss and variation to hold attention. Pair the quieter shades with veined stone, or use emerald, blue or terracotta to wake up plain joinery. Explore kitchen splashback tiles, then bring the Lago sample right up against the benchtop and cabinet finish. A close grout colour makes the glaze feel continuous. More contrast brings the layout forward and should be chosen deliberately.

Give bathroom walls a longer, lighter rhythm

Lago works beautifully behind a vanity, around a bath or across a selected shower wall, provided the exact product and wet area system suit the location. A vertical layout can make a compact wall feel taller, while a horizontal layout wraps the eye around the room. Compare the palette with other bathroom tiles, then choose the floor separately for slip performance and drainage. Lago is specified as a wall tile, not a general purpose floor tile.

Work with the tonal variation, not against it

Lago is Italian-made, with a glossy surface and tonal variation designed to recall handcrafted ceramics. Open several boxes and mix pieces across the wall so the colour moves evenly rather than gathering in patches. The non-rectified edge gives the layout a softer line, so agree on joint width and grout colour with the installer using a small sample panel. For everyday care, use a soft cloth or nonabrasive sponge with a cleaner suitable for glazed wall tiles, and keep a few spare pieces from the same batch for future repairs.

Frequently asked questions

What finish do Lago tiles have?

Lago is an Italian-made wall tile collection with a glossy finish and tonal variation that gives the surface some of the movement associated with handcrafted ceramics.

What size are Lago subway tiles?

The Lago format is 240 x 60mm. Its slim proportion can be laid horizontally or vertically, depending on the direction and rhythm wanted for the wall.

Are Lago tiles suitable for kitchen splashbacks?

Yes, the range is specified for walls, feature walls and splashbacks. Confirm the installation details around heat, benchtops, corners and power points before the layout is finalised.

Can Lago tiles be used in a bathroom or shower?

They can suit bathroom walls and selected shower walls when the exact product is appropriate for the location. Confirm waterproofing, substrate, adhesive and grout with the installer.

Can Lago subway tiles be used on floors?

Lago is specified as a wall tile collection. Do not use it on a floor unless the individual product is expressly rated for that application and the required slip conditions.

Which grout colour should be used with Lago tiles?

A colour close to the glaze gives the wall a softer flow. A contrasting grout emphasises the subway pattern. Test the grout beside several tiles because tonal variation can change how the joint colour reads.
