Oriago Tiles

The look is render, the material is porcelain

Oriago is a matte, concrete-look porcelain tile designed to capture the softly mottled character of Venetian render. It is not applied plaster or natural stone, which means the visual softness comes in a rectified tile that can be planned across floors and walls. For a broader material comparison, explore porcelain tiles. Oriago is the more specific choice when the room needs a mineral, gently clouded surface without pronounced veining or a decorative pattern.

Choose the tone by the light in the room

White feels clean without looking stark, while cream has a softer warmth that sits easily with pale oak and off-white joinery. Sand brings a grounded beige note, and clay works when the palette needs more earth and depth. View several tiles together because the render effect relies on tonal movement across the surface. Morning light can cool the colour, while warm lamps bring out the cream, sand and terracotta undertones. Keep the sample that still sits comfortably beside the room's fixed materials at both times of day.

Use format to control how much movement you see

Oriago is offered in 300 x 300mm, 300 x 600mm, 600 x 600mm and 600 x 1200mm formats. Smaller sizes give the surface more joint detail, while the 600 x 1200mm format allows the tonal variation to read in broader sweeps. Compare square tiles with extra large tiles if scale is still being resolved. Before ordering, map the cuts around doors, cabinetry, drains and feature walls so the chosen size belongs to the room.

Carry one calm surface across floors and walls

The range is specified for indoor floors, walls and feature walls, which makes it useful when a bathroom, kitchen or living area needs continuity. A 600 x 600mm floor can meet a larger wall format in the same tone without every joint lining up. For wet-area planning, begin with the wider bathroom tiles and confirm the selected Oriago size, slip performance, falls and installation system for the exact zone. The tile should be chosen for both the visual scheme and the way the surface will be used.

Keep the set out as quiet as the colour

Rectified edges allow a neat layout, but the final joint width still belongs in the installer specification. A grout close to the tile colour helps the render effect flow across the surface. Contrast makes the grid much more visible and can interrupt the soft movement. Open more than one box during installation so tonal faces can be distributed naturally, and check the layout from the room's main doorway before fixing begins. Oriago looks most convincing when its variation feels balanced rather than repeated in obvious blocks.
