Paciano Tiles

Enjoy the softness of an artisan-cut mosaic

Paciano is deliberately less uniform than a machine-sharp grid. Individually cut pieces create a softened outline, while the honed finish lets the stone's colour and markings remain the focus. The irregularity should feel considered across the whole sheet, not judged piece by piece. Lay several sheets together before installation to see the pattern at room scale and to make sure the transitions between sheets feel natural. This small preparation is what allows the finished wall or floor to look relaxed without appearing accidental.

Choose pale stone or let colour lead

Carrara and Calacatta bring pale marble movement, while travertine introduces a warmer, earthier note. Amazonia and Tempesta Verdi add layered green, and red travertine or Rojo Alicante create a deeper mineral warmth. Compare the stones with the wider natural stone tiles, then bring samples beside cabinetry, benchtops, timber and metal. A coloured Paciano mosaic can become the main material story. A pale version can add texture while allowing the rest of the palette to stay quiet.

Give the mosaic one beautifully defined surface

Paciano works best when the artisan-cut texture has a clear place to live. A vanity wall, shower niche, kitchen splashback or fireplace detail gives the small pieces a frame and lets them be appreciated up close. Browse mosaic tiles for other shapes and materials, or compare application-led options within kitchen splashback tiles. Keep adjoining surfaces restrained so the natural variation feels deliberate rather than crowded.

Make grout part of the stone palette

A close grout colour supports the softly irregular outline and keeps the overall surface calm. A stronger contrast makes every piece more obvious and can compete with veining, especially in colourful stones. Test cured grout against more than one sheet because the stone itself will vary. Agree on grout width, sheet alignment, edge treatment and any movement joints before installation begins. Careful preparation lets the handcrafted character remain the focus without the setting-out details becoming distracting.

Confirm sealing and suitability for the exact area

Natural stone generally needs a considered sealing and maintenance plan. Requirements change with the stone, grout and location, so confirm the correct products and timing before fixing begins. For bathroom floors, showers and exterior areas, check slip performance, drainage, sheet backing, substrate and installation requirements for the selected Paciano tile. Use pH-neutral products suited to natural stone and avoid assuming every marble, travertine or quartzite will respond to cleaners in the same way.

Frequently asked questions

What are Paciano tiles?

Paciano is a collection of honed, artisan-cut natural stone mosaics. Individually cut pieces give the surface a softly irregular outline and allow the stone's natural colour and markings to lead.

Which stones are available in the Paciano collection?

The collection includes stones such as Carrara, Calacatta Gold, travertine, quartzite and richly coloured green and red materials. Availability can change, so check the current collection before choosing.

Can Paciano mosaics be used in bathrooms and showers?

Selected products may suit bathroom and shower applications when the tile and installation system are approved for the exact surface. Confirm wet-area, floor, wall and slip requirements separately.

Are Paciano tiles suitable for a kitchen splashback?

They can create a tactile natural stone splashback. Confirm sealing and cleaning requirements for the selected stone, then plan corners, power points, edges and sheet joins before installation.

Do Paciano natural stone mosaics need sealing?

Natural stone commonly requires sealing, but the correct system varies by material and location. Follow the tile guidance and confirm the process with the installer before work starts.

How should Paciano mosaic sheets be laid out?

Dry lay several sheets, rotate or rearrange them where needed and distribute stronger colour or veining across the surface. Check sheet transitions, perimeter cuts and exposed edges before fixing.
