Fluted stone mosaics from the Curl range, cut as narrow ribs and mounted on 305 x 305mm sheets with a honed surface. Stone choices include Carrara, Calacatta Gold, Rosso Levanto, New York, Botticino, Utica Limestone, Travertine Classic, Rosa Travertine, Gris Travertine, Amazonia, Taj Green, Verdi Antigua and Verdi Cristallo, so the colours reach across white, green, red and travertine tones. Fluting throws a shadow line that shifts with the light, which shows up most on a wall lit from the side. Sheets butt together, so line the ribs up during a dry lay before any adhesive goes on. Natural stone varies from sheet to sheet, and a honed face takes a penetrating sealer well.
