Carrara

Carrara marble here comes as mosaic sheets rather than large format tiles: the Curl fluted profile at 305 x 305mm, and the Bastoni kit kat batons on a 298 x 304mm sheet. Both are honed, so the face is matt and smooth rather than reflective. Carrara is a soft white to pale grey marble with fine grey veining that varies from piece to piece, and the veining reads differently across a fluted rib than it does across a flat baton. Marble is porous and reacts to acids, so a penetrating sealer before grouting is worth the time, and a pH neutral cleaner is the safe option afterwards. Both formats go on walls, splashbacks and shower recesses.
