Bondi subway tiles are tumbled natural stone in a 200 x 65mm brick format, a slimmer proportion than the standard ceramic subway. Stones include Bottocino, Crema Serena, Carrara, Light Bianco Oro, Cinder Grey, Nero Marquina, Rosado, Rosa Murcia, Taj Green and Verdi Cristallo, covering cream, white, beige, grey, black, pink and green. The tumbled edges are slightly rounded and the face is matt, so grout lines read softer than they do against a sharp edged tile. The narrow format takes a running bond, a stack bond or a vertical stack, and the layout changes how tall or wide a wall looks. Seal the stone before grouting, particularly with a dark stone and a light grout.
